Since 2008 when we started until now, we have a lot of requests of username changes. However, since we restarted on the .NET domain in Feb 2010, I have rejected a lot of username change requests from a lot of users.
I’ve explained it before, I will try to emphasize this again.
Why do I do refuse to change the usernames?
- First and foremost, it’ll lead to confusions to a lot of members/staffs, who weren’t aware that you’ve changed your username.
- If more username changes are done, more members will try to have their username changed too whenever they are sick of their username or think they’ve registered with the wrong username.
- I do not have all time to read PMs or check the username change threads just for changing your username, I do not have all day to waste my valuable time changing your username, I have more important issues like server maintenance, backups, SEO Optimization, and lot more which needs to be dealt with on my regular basis.
Whatever username you’d choose to use/pick when you register, that is the username you’ll be keeping throughout the Symbianism’s existence, UNLESS I introduced a Username Change Promotion for a certain period, then you may request for a change in your username, otherwise, it’ll stay as it is.
Note: If you think you’ve registered with the wrong username, and try to re-register a new account with your preferred username, if you are caught doing it, your second account will be deleted for good, and your main account will face a temporary ban.
